The effect that information overload has on humans is like with all other forms of abundance: it's intoxicating. Hooray! Let's gather facts, for the world to me feels terrifying, as the poet says. It's so terribly nice to close your eyes and to laugh, hysterically. We know so much! We can do so much! We can do even more! What, isn't this happiness yet? Abundance and emptiness, baroque and hysteria.

Ene-Liis Semper's "NO33 Hysteria" is her third solo production at Theatre NO99 after "NO47 A Girl That Was Looking For Her Brothers" and "NO42 El Dorado: The Clowns' Raid of Destruction". Beneath the powerful imagery of Semper's productions and video works, there is an intricate grid of human relations. Grotesque meets sadness, tenderness meets power.
