SPECTACULAR
LIGHTSHOWS
OF WHICH U DON'T SEE
THE EFFECT

A room in Tallinn, Paris or Munich. Somewhere in Europe. A chance encounter, as is usually the case: by means of a movement, a touch, a look, but not necessarily in that order. A measured approach, because of the lack of a shared language.

The Belgian and the Estonian, two Europeans, wander speechlessly around in their disorientation.

Spectacular Lightshows allows us a glimpse into a room that is usually closed to us.

A replica of a guest flat at the Münchner Kammerspiele is the setting, and it becomes an installation in which bodies are presented as extremely fragile and then encounter each other. A plea for vulnerability.

This play was created and performed by Benny Claessens and Risto Kübar for Münchner Kammerspiele and has now been taken up by NTGent.
